Providing oral health services to children with a focus on the importance of establishing dental health from an early age, Julie Anfinson, DDS, is a pediatric dentist and owner of Affiliated Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics (APDO) in Scottsdale, Arizona. Dr. Julie Anfinson is a fellow at the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) and is a member of the AAPD Council of Clinical Affairs committee. In addition, Dr. Anfinson is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a consultant for the Arizona State Board of Dental Examiners.

For almost 25 years, Dr. Anfinson has provided patient-focused dental care to infants as young as one year in a family-centered, interactive, and friendly environment. Working to build patient confidence and healthy oral health habits, Julie Anfinson, DDS, focuses on preventive patient care, educating parents and children about the importance of proper brushing. Dr. Anfinson suggests that parents assist children with brushing teeth twice daily until the age of 8. She also recommends using toothpaste with fluoride, proven to lessen tooth decay by 35 percent. In addition, Dr. Anfinson advises parents to help children with flossing once a day and promotes the importance of a healthy diet low in sugar and high in calcium, as well as bi-annual dental checkups to maintain optimal dental health.

Dr. Anfinson finished undergraduate study at the Oskaloosa, Iowa-based William Penn University before earning a degree in dentistry from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. Following a year-long residency program at the Oklahoma City-based Children’s Hospital at OU Medical Center, Julie Anfinson, DDS, completed specialty training in pediatric dentistry at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas.
